lab owner

Ryan Gottlieb established Gottlieb Dental
Laboratory, specializing in all areas of ceramic restorative care in 1999, in Durham, NC.

Pushed by an ambition to provide unparalleled quality and superior customer satisfaction, he quickly secured an elite customer base and emerged as one of the country's most talented restorative artists by taking top honor in the 2003 IDF Crown and Bridge Shoot Out.

Having since relocated to Columbia, SC, Gottlieb Dental Laboratory has grown to include a team of gifted technicians who share Ryan's vision and skill.  Ryan has a daughter and son and lives in Forest Acres with his wife Mary Katherine.  He is an avid sailor and outdoor enthusiast and enjoys spending time on Lake Murray.

"Ryan's ability to produce natural contours and depth of color which are harmonious with the surrounding dentition mean that even my most demanding patients will be satisfied.  I have worked with Gottlieb Dental Laboratory for ten years and have featured their work in my lectures to the amazement of course participants.  I give them my highest recommendation!"

"So far in my career, I've tried nationally known labs and small personal ones.  No one has measured up until now.  I have found Gottlieb Dental to have great fit and wonderful esthetics with superior personal service."

As a cosmetic dentist, I require very life-like restorations.  For the last ten years, Gottlieb Dental Lab has consistently provided me with highly esthetic and natural looking crowns and veneers that exceed my patient's expectations.  Ryan Gottlieb is a true artist."
Rawley H. Fuller, IV, DDS, PA
I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to Gottlieb Dental Lab for their outstanding job on a crown I recently had replaced. My old crown had root canal therapy after it was placed, thus leaving practically no texture on the biting surface. When I received this new crown I was amazed at how it feels so much like one of my natural teeth. There is a “bumpy” texture on the biting surface – just like that of a real tooth, and the crown itself is very smooth. As someone employed in the dental field my expectations are probably a little above the norm. But I have to say I am beyond impressed with their superior craftsmanship and highly recommend Gottlieb Dental Lab to everyone. Their final product proves how much time, effort and talent is put into every case they deliver!

Thank you, Gottlieb Dental Lab!

David Griffin (our resident curmudgeon) came to Gottlieb Dental Laboratory in 2008 after an adventurous background traveling the world in the US Navy.  Working as a mechanic, he spent time on minesweepers, frigates, and subtenders protecting our freedom.  In his 8 years of model-room experience, David has grown to be one of the best model technicians in the country, making an art out of dental models.  With the emphasis that many dental practices are putting on implants, David has quickly mastered the delicate art of mounting complex, implant cases involving nearly all available implant systems that are on the market. David is a passionate cook and loves spending time with his dog, "Chief".
